Woman sheds 8.5st in 12 months by following THIS popular diet plan

Many of us will be striving to lose weight in the new year.

And there’s no better motivation than looking at other people’s success stories.

On Reddit’s Progress Pics thread – which has over 600k subscribers – many share their transformation snaps in the hope of inspiring others.

This was the case for one woman, who lost 8.5st in less than a year.

Reddit user Blipira revealed how the ketogenic diet changed her life on the open forum.

The low carb regime is popular among slimmers as it helps the body to burn fat.

To see the best results, followers should consume 70-75% of their calories from fat, 15-20% from protein and just 5-10% from carbohydrates.

Countless celebrities are said to be fans of the fad, including Kourtney Kardashian and Gwyneth Paltrow.

But it has also helped everyday people to fight the flab, as shown by these before and after pictures.

The Redditor explained how intermittent and keto diets had helped her to slim down.

She said: “Over the past four months I have been focused on eating what my body is asking for, rather than counting carbs though I still fast about three days a week.

“It’s been rare for me to eat much for carbs even if I’m ‘allowing myself’ to do so…

“I stick to eating naturally occurring carbs such as those found in fruits and vegetables, but not in excess.”

The unnamed woman added that she didn’t need to exercise regularly in order to see results.

After sharing her story, the Reddit user added that dieting isn’t about restricting yourself.

Instead, understanding her body is what helped her to shed 8.5st in less than 12 months.

She added: “Overall, it’s been a life-changing experience and I can’t emphasise the significance of this enough.

“It is so worth every “missed” food or meal that I wasn’t actually missing.

“I actually know and understand my body now and there’s no better feeling.”
